This year’s CGA Annual Art Competition saw an extraordinary collaboration between the Art and Photography Clubs, bringing mixed media to the forefront with a collage theme. Participants showcased their creativity by blending photographic, and hand/digital-drawn elements to interpret the overarching theme of nature, divided into two sub-themes: Nature in the Modern Age and Elements of Nature.
We encouraged students from all campuses to push their creative boundaries, resulting in diverse and global submissions from all three campuses! The competition was judged by a panel comprising myself, Lily Watanabe, Sophie Uhrig, Milan Lubbe, and Mrs. Kate Thompson. We evaluated the entries based on their originality, understanding, and unique interpretation of the category and execution of their ideas.
The winners were as follows:
- WINNER of Nature in the Modern Age: Sara Aso
- WINNER of Elements of Nature: Ruby Choi
- Honourable Mention: Arielle Reid
Every winner’s artwork reflected a unique perspective on their chosen theme, which showcased exceptional skill and creativity. As the Art Club Representatives, Lily Watanabe and Sophie Uhrig, and the guest judges; Milan Lubbe, President of Photography Club; Mrs Thompson (Aoraki Dean), we would like to thank all participants for their effort as every submission brought something meaningful and beautiful to the competition.
Congratulations to the winners and all those who participated! We hope this event inspired you to explore your artistic potential further.
Stay tuned for next year’s competition and other Arts Club events!
