Are You Ready to Keep Fit With CGA?

Exercising to keep fit has always played an essential role in our daily lives and this activity has become increasingly important as we are all in lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak. With quarantine, many of us can not go outside for a walk, meet up with friends, and exercise like usual. Our lives have become more sedentary and less active. Personally, I have also noticed that I have been exercising much less since the pandemic started in 2020.

According to the Mayo Clinic, we should aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. By doing so, we can control our weight, improve our mood, have better sleep, and boost our energy and thus improve our overall quality of life. Despite these suggestions given by doctors, less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day, according to RxResource. Therefore, to promote regular exercise to its students, Crimson Global Academy has created a CGA Strava for students who want to stay fit and share their running, cycling, and other activities with others. There is also a leaderboard which compares the amount of time each person spends exercising along with each person’s ranking. This helps create a bit of competition among everyone and encourages people to exercise more. Thank you Owen Wu very much for creating this wonderful platform for everyone!

Besides this platform, there are also many other ways to exercise and stay lean during quarantine:

  • Eat a balanced and healthy diet. You can use the Canada’s Food Guide to see the various food recommendations there. If you are planning to lose weight, this website also provides you with countless healthy recipe options for different dishes. • Do active housework. As tedious as it may sound, completing housework will actually help you exercise. This is killing two birds with one stone because not only will you be able to keep fit but also live in a cleaner environment. Who does not like to be in an organized and tidy environment, right?
  • Follow the workouts on social media and YouTube. With a quick search, you can find many workout routines on the internet and social media.
  • Create an account on Sworkit. Sworkit is another amazing online exercising program. There are hundreds of workouts on there for strength, cardio, yoga, and stretching and what is more is that you can even create your own workout plan. This website will track your exercising time and even helps you to create your own personalized workout. This is a link to Sworkit: https://sworkit.com/

Although there are many, many more ways to keep fit during lockdown, the listed above are just some of the few that I can think of. We should all exercise on a daily basis and get started trying out some of these digital exercising platforms right now!
